Live Results

The final LCM prelims session went off this morning at the Tennessee Invite, with some impressive swims from the top athletes. The Tennessee women and Missouri men came into this final day with substantial leads in the team race. The meet will conclude tonight at finals in what should be another fast session.

200 Backstroke

The women’s 200 backstroke was first up this morning, and Nadine Laemmler continued her strong showing this meet posting a fast 2:12.16 for the top seed. Her Mizzou teammate Hannah Stevens was 2nd in 2:16.27, and then Lauren Driscoll led the Tennessee women who placed 3rd through 5th in 2:17.44.

2015 Pan Am champion Sean Lehane (Tennessee) dropped a 1:58.79 in the 200 back this morning, a very competitive time. Robert Owen of Virginia Tech is seeded 2nd for tonight after going 2:00.72 this morning, and the Pan Am runner-up Carter Griffin of Mizzou was 3rd in 2:03.24.

100 Freestyle

After claiming the 50 free title on day 1, Tennessee’s Faith Johnson posted the top time in the women’s 100 free this morning in 56.44. She was followed closely by teammate Harper Bruens in 56.63, and Mizzou’s Hannah Stevens was 3rd in 57.27.

Mizzou’s Michael Chadwick continued his amazing performance at the meet posting the top time in the men’s 100 freestyle in 49.53, a second and a half clear of 2nd place Sean Lehane (51.00). Chadwick has already posted team records and NCAA A-cuts this meet, and we should be on the lookout for more tonight in this 100 free. His best yards time is 42.29, and he has already been 41.7 on a relay earlier in the meet. The top time in the NCAA heading into this weekend is 42.87 from Ryan Held of NC State. Chadwick sits in 2nd after a 43.01 earlier this month. Last nights 100 fly (Andrew Sansoucie) and 100 back (Ryan Marsh) winners also qualified for the final, in 5th and 8th respectively.

200 Breaststroke

After earning A-cuts last night in the 100 breast, Abby Duncan and Katharine Ross of Mizzou posted the top two times in the women’s 200 breast, in 2:30.54 and 2:33.82 respectively. No other swimmers broke 2:40 this morning, with Colleen Callahan (2:40.99) and Hannah Holman (2:41.54) of Tennessee coming in 3rd and 4th.

Fabian Schwingenschlogl continued his strong meet posting the top time in 2:14.01. Look for him to be fast tonight, as he has shown incredible form throughout this meet. 2nd went to his Mizzou teammate Eddie Mapel in 2:15.98, and 3rd place went to Ethan Browne of Tennessee in 2:17.68. The top seeded swimmer coming into the meet Ross Dibblin of Tennessee squeaked into the final in 8th in 2:21.77.

200 Butterfly

Virginia Tech’s Klaudia Nazielbo posted the top time in the women’s 200 fly in 2:15.38, followed by Sharli Brady of Mizzou in 2:16.18 and Heather Lundstrom of Tennessee in 2:17.12.

The meet will conclude tonight with all of the same events from this morning, plus the 1650 freestyle and 400 free relays. The Tennessee women and Mizzou men look to have a lock on the team win.
