RACE VIDEO: Michael Phelps Goes 1:40.84 In 200 IM Time Trial

Yesterday in Austin, TX at the American Short Course Championships, Michael Phelps proved that he is ready for his official return to competition to the Pro Swim Series – Mesa meet with a phenomenal 200 yard IM.

The 22-time-Olympic medalist clocked an amazingly swift time of 1:40.84, which ranks the performance as the 7th-fastest 200y IM swim of all time.  However, with it being truly an exhibition swim while he’s under suspension, no record books will be updated with the result.

Greatest of All Time. Nothing else needs to be said.

He goes a lot further underwater in his backstroke leg than Nolan or other high level 2IMers. Especially on the second backstroke wall – he went almost to 15 meters. That seems really unusual. Has he always swam 2IM like that?

I’ve just watch the video for the first time and I love the silence in the pool.
People have so much respect and I’m not sure they can believe they watch the greatest for real. They were not aware of his presence.
What a gift for them!

Suspending Phelps was a terrible idea…we don’t live to be governed and judged by others. Let the man have his freedom and race.

I asked a question on here the other day re: critical thinker’s statement. Did I not hit the post button or was it deleted? If so, why? I was asking sincerely.
