The 400 IM American Record changed hands last season between Stanford teammates Katie Ledecky and Ella Eastin. Now that Ledecky has dropped the 200 free for the 400 IM at NCAAs, who will capture the title (and possibly the American Record) at the big showdown?

Indiana’s Lilly King will look for her third consecutive 200 breast title at the NCAA Championships.
Mallory Comerford is one of four 4:35’s coming into the 2018 NCAA Championships in the 500 free, behind Katie Ledecky’s 4:26.
Though she would be seeded 2nd in the 500, Ella Eastin has opted to swim the 200IM (#5 seed) instead.

We’ll see 3 reigning NCAA champions compete in their events tonight between Stanford’s Simone Manuel (100 free), Cal’s Kathleen Baker (200 back), and Stanford’s Ella Eastin (200 fly).
Look out for Stanford’s Katie Ledecky, who will battle American Record holder Ella Eastin shortly before racing All-American teammate Simone Manuel in the 200 free.

The reigning NCAA champions are featured in each of tonight’s individual races: Stanford’s Katie Ledecky (500 free), Cal’s Kathleen Baker (200 IM), and Stanford’s Simone Manuel (50 free).

Cal came within .03 of the NCAA Record, with Kathleen Baker on top of her game as she posted a 23.59 back split.
The Stanford women are the heavy favorites to take the 2018 Pac-12 crown and successfully defend their 2017 title, which was their first since 2014.
