Kelsey Prince, a senior at Northview High School in Duluth, Georgia, has verbally committed to swim for the University of Pennsylvania, for the 2015-2016 season.*
Prince represents Dynamo Swim Club, specializing in fly, back, and I.M. events. She had a solid junior season, placing sixth in the 100 Fly and second in the 200 I.M. at the 2014 Georgia 1-5A High School State Championships. She placed 116th in the 200 I.M., 88th in the 400 I.M., and 97th in the 200 Fly at the 2013 Winter Junior Nationals. She placed 40th in the 400 I.M., 78th in the 200 Breast, and 52nd in the 200 I.M. at the 2014 NCSA Junior National Championships to complete her junior short course season.

She Is Getting Faster
As a junior, Prince improved her fly and I.M. events the most. In short course, she dropped a second in her 100 Fly, a second in her 200 Fly, two seconds in her 200 I.M., and four seconds in her 400 I.M., while staying consistent with her backstroke events. In long course, she dropped a second in her 400 I.M. and half a second in her 100 Fly. Her progression indicates that she is likely to improve in her senior season, arriving at Penn faster than she is right now.
Once she makes her collegiate debut, Prince will have an immediate impact on Penn, with the current ability to score at the Ivy League Championships in the 200 I.M. (B Final), 400 I.M. (B Final), 100 Fly (C Final), 100 Back (B Final), 200 Back (B Final), and 200 Fly (C Final). Perhaps after a few seasons with Penn, she will be able to contribute to relays as well. With one more year to improve before she arrives at Penn, Prince may be able to be an A-Finalist at the Ivy League Championships, as a freshman.

The procedure for a recruited athlete like Prince is for Admissions to review her transcript and SAT scores, “support (her) application for admissions in the fall,” issue a Likely Letter, then offer her acceptance into the class of 2019.
