STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific swim and dive program has announced the newest addition to its staff, bringing aboard Amy Kay as the diving coach ahead of the 2025-26 season.
“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to lead this Pacific diving program,” Kay said. “Restarting Pacific’s dive program is a dream opportunity and I’m excited to build a team that’s strong, cohesive and is an asset to the Pacific swim team.”
Kay looks to elevate the Tigers’ new dive program, bringing in her coaching expertise to Pacific after stints at the University of La Verne, Occidental College and Azusa Pacific over the last three years.
“We’re excited to welcome Amy Kay to our program,” Pacific head coach Katelyne Herrington said. “From the start, it was clear she was a great culture fit, someone who truly values the student-athlete experience and takes a process-driven approach to coaching. Kay also brings strong local connections that will help us grow and strengthen our diving program. We’re lucky to have her on board and can’t wait to see the impact she will make in the upcoming years.”
Kay’s diving and coaching journey began with the Sacramento-based Capital Divers from 2012 to 2019, planning and executing conditioning practices to improve athletes’ coordination and skills.
Kay made her collegiate coaching debut when she joined Occidental College’s staff for the 2022-23 season. In her first season as the diving coach, all of the Tigers’ divers scored points at the SCIAC Championships, including a top eight performance from Callie Rice ’24.
A diver for over 20 years, Kay committed to dive at Western Kentucky. After one year in Kentucky, she finished her college diving career at Azusa Pacific University where she was a Div. II All-American for three years.
In her most recent coaching role at Azusa Pacific, Kay ran the diving program, creating conditioning programs and workouts while guiding athletes through technical diving and injury recovery.
Kay graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Azusa Pacific in 2021.
