For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Sprint freestyler Lindsay Flynn has verbally committed to the Indiana Hoosiers for 2021. She trains with the Aquatic Team of Mecklenburg (ATOM) in the Charlotte area and also swims for Charlotte Latin High School.

TOP TIMES

  • 50y free – 23.10
  • 100y free – 50.44
  • 200y free – 1:55.21
  • 50m free – 25.62
  • 100m free – 56.63

As a freshman with Charlotte Latin in 2018, Flynn was the 50 free and 100 free runner-up at the 2018 NCISAA 3A Championships. She was also on both free relays which won state titles. In 2019, Flynn won the state title in the 100 free and took second again in the 50, and she helped both free relays to state titles, too.

Flynn made big improvements from the 2017-18 to 2018-19 SCY seasons. She went into last season with bests of 23.87 and 51.62 in the 50 and 100 free, respectively. In late winter of 2019, at the end of the last SCY season, she dropped down to 23.10 and 50.44, respectively.

She’s also had very big drops in long course; she had never broken 28.0 in the 50m free until 2019, when she started the year in April with a 26.70 and worked her way down to a 25.65 at Speedo Junior Championships in August and finally a 25.62 at the Greensboro stop of the 2019-20 Pro Swim Series just last month. In the 100 free, she broke a minute for the first time in April of 2019 with a 58.53, then set her lifetime best this summer at Speedo Juniors with a 56.63. She was 56.93 in the 100 at the Greensboro PSS stop.

The Hoosier women have picked up the quality of their sprint group with their current freshman class, which is headed by Cora Dupre, who has already smashed Indiana program records in the 50 and 100 free this season.

Anna Peplowski, Elyse Heiser, and #20 Mariah Denigan have also verbally committed to the class of 2025.
