Megan Zindel Verbally Commits To Truman State
Megan Zindel, a senior at Central A&M High School in Moweaqua, Illinois, verbally committed to swim for Truman State University for the 2015-2016 season.
At 3:12 PM on Monday, September 22, Megan tweeted: “Purple always was my favorite.”, hinting that she had made such a commitment.

Zindel is a short-axis stroke specialist out of Decatur Swim Club. Her junior season at Central A&M was highlighted by a second-place finish in the 100 fly and first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke at the 2013 Urbana-Illinois High School Sectional Championships.

Truman State placed 26th at the 2014 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships. With the addition of Zindel, the Bulldogs will add an immediate impact to their young group of talented flyers and breaststrokers. Her best times in both the 100 Fly/Breast would have placed her third and fourth on Truman’s top times list from 2014, but the Bulldogs have graduated a senior from each of those events. She will be training with an NCAA Division II B-finalist in the 100 fly, once she arrives at Truman.
With the opportunity to gain more racing experience in the 200 Fly/Breast, Zindel could prove to be valuable in those events as well. She still has another year of high school and club competition before racing for Truman, which may show her improving yet again.
