Manta Rays Se Inspired Ab Tak Ka Sabse Fastest Swimming Karne Wala Robot

American researchers ki ak team ne paani me robot ki speed ko control karne ki apni ability me improvement ke liye iconic sea creatures se inspire hokar apne khud ke speed record ko beat kiya.

Robot breaking iss robot ke fins Manta Ray ke shape me hain, aur aise material se bana hai jo fins par stable rahta hai.

North Carolina State University ke study corresponding author Dr. Jie Yin ne kaha: ‘Do saal pahle humne ak aquatic soft robot ko demonstrate kiya tha jo 3.74 body length per second ki average speed tak pahochne me saksham tha. Humne uss design ko improve kiya hai. Hamara new soft robot more energy efficient hai aur 6.8 body length per second ki speed tak pahochta hai. Iske alawa previous model keval paani ke surface par hi tair sakta tha. Hamara new robot water column me up and down swimming me capable hai.”

Unhone bataya ki robot ke fins ak flexible, silicon body se attached hai jisme ak chamber hota hai jise air se full Kara ja sakta hai.

Air chamber ko fulane se pankh bend ho jaate hain- Manta dwara apne pankh fadfadane par neeche ki taraf jhatke maarne jaisa.

Jab chamber se hawa bahar nikalti hai, toh pankh apne aap apni initial position me wapas aa jaate hain.

Study ke first author aur North Carolina State University ke Ph.D. student Haitao Qing ne kaha, “Chamber me air pump karne se system me energy enter karti hai. Fins apni stable state me wapas lautna chahte hain, isliye air release se fins me energy bhi release hoti hai. Iska matlab hai ki robot ke liye keval ak actuator ki jarurat hai aur ye jada tej speed se kaam karna allow karta hai.”

Research team, jiski achievement ko Science Advances me describe kiya gaya tha, ne kaha ki Manta Ray ki fluid dynamics ki study karne se robot ki vertical moment ko control karne me bhi key role play ki.

Study co-author and University of Virginia ke PhD student Jiacheng Guo ne kaha ki unhone Manta Ray ki motion ko observe kiya aur iss behaviour ko mimic karne me able the taaki ye control kiya ja sake ki robot surface ki taraf tairta hai, downward tairta hai ya water column me apni position banaye rakhta hai.

Jab Manta Rays tairti hain, toh wo paani ke 2 jets banati hain jo unhe aage ki taraf le jaate hain.

Study co-author Dr. Yuanhang Zhu, University of California, Riverside me mechanical engineering ke Assistant Professor ne kaha, specifically, simulations and experiments me dikhaya ki hamare Robot dwara produced downward jet iske upward jet ke comparison me jada powerful hain.

“Agar Robot apne fins quickly flap karta hai, toh wo upward rise hoga.” “ Lekin agar hum actuation frequency ko slow down kar dete hain, toh ye robot ko apne fins flapping ke beech me thoda doobne ke liye allow karta hai- jisse wo ya toh neeche ki taraf dive kar sakta hai ya usi depth me tair sakta hai.”

Qing ne kaha, “Ak aur factor jo khel me aata hai wo ye hai ki hum iss robot ko compressed air se power de rahe hain.

Mechanical and aerospace engineering ke Associate professor Dr. Yin ne kaha, ye ak highly engineered design hai, lekin fundamental concepts kaafi simple hain. Keval single actuation input ke saath, hamara robot ak complex vertical environment me navigate kar sakta hai.

“Hamara goal ise ak aise design ke saath karna hai jo uss elegant simplicity ko banaye rakhe.”
