Psych sheets have been released for the 2017 CIF Central Coast Section Championships. Competition will take place from May 12th-13th at the Santa Clara International Swim Center. The top 3 finishers in each event will qualify for the CIF State Meet.

Among the top competitors slated to compete is Stanford Commit Alex Liang, who will take on the 200 IM and 500 free. The 200 IM is a change in line-up for Palo Alto High School’s Liang, as he was the state champion in the 200 free last season. This season, Liang is the only man entered with a sub-1:50 in the 200 IM, and is the top seed by 12 seconds in the 500 free for the Central Coast Section meet.

Fellow Junior Nationals medalist and Stanford commit Grace Zhao will compete in the 200 IM and 100 breast. Zhao will be chasing the State Record in the 200 IM this season, as her personal best 1:59.31 is just hundredths shy of the mark.

Up-and-comer Nicole Oliva will look to make waves as a freshman. Oliva is the top seed in the 500 free by over 5 seconds. She’ll have a quick turnaround between that event and the 100 back, with only the 200 free relay and a short break in between. In the 100 back, she’s entered as the 2nd seed behind Cal commit Sophie Krivokapic-Zhou.
