Katie Ledecky on Kate Douglass’ 50 Free World Record: “I think it lifts everyone up”

Katie Ledecky had a Katie Ledecky-esuqe weekend in Indianapolis, taking dominant wins in the 400 (3:59), 800 (8:12), and 1500 (15:34). The 14x Olympic medalist said May was one of the hardest, if not the hardest, blocks of training she’s had all season, but had hit a groove coming into Indy. She also commented on fellow Team USA-er Kate Douglass’ surprise world record in the 50 free, saying it’s always special to be in the building for the fastest time ever in an event, and it inspires everyone to be better.
