Bob Bowman was asked after Summer’s fly WR swim if she was at the height of her “super powers”. Bob said Summer was just now entering the height of her super powers over the next few years, that there were things that could be worked on to get her faster. She should get stronger as well.
I personally would like her to now go after the 200free and 800 free. Maybe lay off the 200 fly and 400 IM a bit, as she is so far ahead of everybody else.
I would love to see Summer go head-to-head with Mollie in the 200 free at PP.
To answer your question, McEvoy’s WR was the most impressive but Summer’s was close.
The reason as a few of us have said – men’s super suit records are harder to break as the men are only allowed to wear jammers nowadays. Much much less coverage than 2008/2009.
Didn’t the suits also have more effect on buoyancy with men compared to women?
Yes
There are 3 other men within 1% of McEvoy’s time there are 0 other women within 1 % of Summers time there seem to be an opinion of some that women’s records are easier to beat than men not sure why
To answer Coleman’s question about “has another swimmer in their prime changed coaches and continued to drop in their primary events”: Kaylee McKeown.
Olympic champion in both backstrokes plus 100 back WR under Mooney, changed to Bohly, broke all 3 backstroke WRs and backed up her Olympic wins.
She has sibce moved to Sage and she’s set multiple SCM WRs and set a PB in the 100 back AGAIN.

She’ll be a force for a very long time. The fact she can swim under anyone makes her the highest caliber in her field.
I’d like to see her to go for the 2FR WR. I know she’ll get the 8FR, but that 2FR would be the ultimate challenge for her.
Summer had a French coach after Sarasota. I think she set a WR under him (I think).

Insane. She also had those few monster 800s. Wonder what would happen if she stayed with him, cause I believe she was only with him for a year.
Less than that. 6 or 7 months. As I understand it from interviews, Summer had already committed to Bob before heading to France in early 2025 for temporary training.
I am assuming that Summer had outgrown the developmental program in Sarasota following her Olympic success in Paris in 2024.
