We’ve got yet another exciting lineup of semi-finals and finals at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre as Australia continues to dominate the medal table.

The nation will have several of its big guns in the pool this evening, with World Record holder Cameron McEvoy taking on his signature 50m free, while the dangerous trio of Meg Harris, Shayna Jack and Mollie O’Callaghan are among the top contenders in the women’s 100m free semi-finals.

Matt Temple will also be in the spotlight for Australia, racing in the final of the men’s 1000m fly against teammate Harrison Turner and Canadian Josh Liendo, among others.

Liendo will pull double duty this evening, racing in both the 50m free and 100m fly, with his Canadian countrywoman Kylie Masse appearing in the women’s 100 back final.

Lani Pallister of the green and gold will go after another top spot, this time in the women’s 1500m free final, after already capturing 400m free gold.

One race in which an Aussie is not a favorite is the women’s 100m breast, where Scottish ace Angharad Evans heads up the field, with South African Aimee Canny hot on her heels.

Additional races include the men’s 50m breast semi-final, the women’s 100m fly semi-final and the men’s 4x200m free final.

Scotland’s national record holder and Olympian Angharad Evans once again commanded the women’s 100m breaststroke field, producing a gold medal-worthy swim of 1:06.07.

That was off her semi-final swim of 1:05.34, but enough to hold off South Africa’s Aimee Canny and Australian age-group phenom Sienna Toohey.

After scratching today’s 100 free heats, Canny settled for silver in 1:06.19 with Australian 17-year-old Toohey landing on the podium in 1:06.47 for the bronze.

Evans’ season-best remains at the 1:04.96 logged at the Aquatics GB Championships in April to rank as the #1 performer in the world right now.

Canny’s time of 1:05.97 from June’s TYR Pro Swim Series rendered her the 5th-best performer, while Toohey’s time of 1:05.97 from the Australian Trials last month ties her.
