The Danvers YMCA Dolfins and the Assistant Swim Coach:

The Danvers YMCA Dolfins, a privately owned YMCA-affiliated youth swim team based at the Danvers Community YMCA, is seeking a part-time Assistant Swim Coach (ASC) to partner with the head coach to create a program that develops swimmers who excel in and out of the water.

The Dolfins are an up-and-coming program that is growing in both size and stature in New England Swimming. The Dolfins are owned by Timm Heffron, who is also the founder and owner of Swimm with Timm, the premier swim lesson program operating on the North Shore of Massachusetts. Swimm with Timm has been teaching children to swim out of pools in Peabody, Methuen, and Salisbury since 2017. Many graduates of the Swimm with Timm lesson program become members of the Dolfins, meaning the health of the swim team program is intact.

The head coach of the Dolfins is Tom Phillips. Tom joined the Dolfins in September 2025, drawn by the opportunity to grow the team and develop children in the sport that he has devoted decades to. Tom was previously the head age-group coach for the Commonwealth North branch of Commonwealth Swimming and is currently an assistant coach for the Merrimack College Women’s Swimming and Diving team.

During the 2025-2026 SCY season, the Dolfins experienced an 8-fold increase in the number of swimmers who qualified for New England Silvers, qualified 1 swimmer for New England 10&Under Age Group Championships, and tripled the number of swimmers who qualified for YMCA Districts, YMCA New Englands, and New England Bronze. Over 80% of swimmers completed the IMR Challenge, also a massive increase from the previous year.

The Role and Functions:

The Assistant Swim Coach (ASC) is a part-time opportunity (20-25 hours per week w/ FT potential) that will allow the selected candidate to lead one or more training groups within the Danvers Y Dolfins swim program. The ASC, in consultation with the Head Coach, will develop and implement season and session goals and plans. The swim team operates from September to July, and practices are typically in the late afternoon and evening, with some early morning and weekend responsibilities.

Coaching:

• Organize and conduct practices, conditioning programs and competitive events. Instruct student-athletes with sound principles and expert skills related to swimming, prepare individual athletes and team for meets, set season goals and motivate students using techniques that meet the needs of the students and that are consistent with the Lycoming College athletic program philosophy.

Immediate Part-Time Openings: The JCC Bridgewater Tide Swim team (BWTD)is seeking qualified USA Swim Coaches to assist our full time coaches with our Gold 1 & 2 groups, and additional groups as needed. BWTD is located at the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center in Bridgewater, NJ. We have an ambitious, experienced staff, and we are looking to hire coaches with the same commitment to excellence and desire to inspire our swimmers to succeed. We offer a competitive program that allows swimmers to achieve high levels of athletic success on a State level and beyond. We also enjoy a “family” culture that includes committed coaches and a supportive volunteer parent committee with a diverse and dedicated group of swimmers and families.

The Assistant Coach will be responsible for all aspects of coaching one or more assigned practice groups and will attend all meets in which they are assigned. Meets are generally 1-2 weekends a month, with more during Championship seasons.

The Tide has a year round enrollment of 160 swimmers that compete on both USA Swimming Short Course and Long Course teams, a Competitive Stroke Clinic in the spring, and a summer league team that competes in the NJ Swimming and Diving Conference. The JCC’s excellent facility includes both a 5 lane 25 yard indoor heated pool, and a 5 lane 25 meter outdoor heated pool that has a dome enclosure during the colder months, so it is utilized all year round.

Minimum requirements include:

• Availability to coach practices weekday afternoons and evening, and/or morning/day on weekends. Hours are flexible based on availability. Possible sub opportunities.

Job Description: The Lakota Family YMCA seeks a passionate and motivated individual to step into the role of Head Coach to lead our growing swim team program. We are located in Liberty Township, Ohio, roughly 20 miles northwest of Cincinnati, and participate in the Tri-County and Southwest Ohio YMCA swim leagues. The ideal candidate will possess a strong, fundamental knowledge of stroke technique and physical conditioning, as well as the ability to positively motivate swim team participants using an understanding of individual swimmers’ strengths and goals.

The Lakota YMCA Stingrays comprises a recreational summer team and year-round competitive team. Our program caters to a wide variety of swimmers of varying abilities ranging in age from 5-18, with approximately 125 participants currently enrolled in the program. The Head Coach position is a full-time position, requiring mornings, nights, and weekends, and involves planning and overseeing practices, recruiting/hiring assistant coaching staff, and a variety of administrative tasks.

Job Requirements:

• Hours/week varying; includes mornings, evenings, weekends

Qualifications:

• Must be 18+ years of age

• Minimum 2+ years’ professional coaching experience, ideally in a head coaching or YMCA-Swimming or USA-Swimming position, preferred
• Experience using Team Unify/Sports Engine, HyTek, and/or Team/Meet Manager preferred

Training & Certifications:

• Must obtain or possess current American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 3-6 months of employment
• Must obtain or possess Safety Training for Swim Coaches (STSC) within 3-6 months of employment
• Must obtain or possess Coaches Membership with USA Swimming within 3-6 months of employment
• Complete Principles of YMCA Swimming and Diving (Y-USA) and Child Protection Training (SafeSport) within 3-6 months of employment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and administer effective training programs for the competitive and recreational swim teams focusing on stroke technique and physical conditioning
• Create a positive, fun and encouraging team environment where swimmers are encouraged to learn and grow
• Recruit, hire and train assistant coaching staff to assist in administering practice, communicating with parents and team participants, and attend team competitions
• Work with the Aquatics Director and Swim Team Parent Board to plan and execute team-building activities and social functions

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Abide by and enforce policies of Y-USA and USA-Swimming
• Abide by and enforce policies of Lakota Family YMCA Employee Manual, including thorough knowledge and administration of emergency action plan (EAP)
• Assist aquatic staff (lifeguards, swim lesson instructors, etc.) in administering EAP in the event of an emergency
• Assist aquatics and YMCA staff in maintaining facility cleanliness and appearance
• Manage and organize team equipment and other applicable inventory
• Complete incident and/or contamination reports as needed

Chinook Aquatic Club is one of the oldest swim teams in the Seattle area, founded in 1976. We have a long history of serving the Eastside swim community and developing successful athletes. Our coaching staff is composed of experienced, forward-thinking professionals, and we are looking to expand our team as the club continues to grow and increase its competitive presence. Chinook operates training sites in Bellevue and Renton, conveniently serving athletes from those and surrounding communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and assist with 1.5 to 2-hour practices Monday through Saturday, primarily working with athletes ages 9–15
• Plan and implement practice sessions using a progressive training approach, including technique development and conditioning tailored to assigned groups
• Attend and coach at swim meets approximately 1–2 times per month
• Perform general administrative duties, including meet entries and communication with staff, athletes, and families
• Maintain current USA Swimming coach membership and all required certifications
