The Lead Swim Coach heads up the programming, administration and marketing of the Bluefin’s Summer League, SwimFit Masters Swim, Dolphins Fitness Swim, and AquaTech after School Swim, July-August Weekly Swim Clinics and AquaEdge Weekend Workshops. The Lead Coach will coach/help run all swim youth swim practices, swim meets, coordinates and helps coach and run swim meets, coordinates a parents group and other events related to Bluefin’s, Dolphins and AquaTech. For adults, the Lead Coach helps communicate new ideas/strategies/coaching formats for SwimFit classes along with developing and engaging members in competition opportunities. The Lead Coach will coach a minimum of six SwimFit classes per week. The Lead Coach is expected to help lead private lessons and workshops that will help develop swimmers and prepare them to join the swim programs and SwimFit. The Lead Coach coordinates with the Aquatics Director and Youth Swim Coordinator to plan, administer and communicate regarding adult and youth competitive swim programs. Year round, the Lead Coach will develop and build our Dolphins Fitness Swim, AquaTech, and AquaEdge Swim Clinics for Kids. They must contribute to various forms of media/marketing such as digital signage, flyers, e-Newsletter articles and Social Media. This role includes overseeing and ensuring the proper maintenance is done on pool area features relating to competitive and lap swimming (including but not limited to synchronizing the pace clocks when needed, assisting with moving lane lines, ensuring all swim gear is organized and stored at the end of a class). This position is part time with the potential to become full time as the programs and services grow. This position requires work on some holidays and on weekends (depending on the classes and programming). Attendance at all team meetings, staff meetings, company meetings and assistance at department events is expected. This position also requires CPR, First Aid and AED certifications, a minimum of three years teaching and team coaching experience, a minimum of two years coaching and teaching Adults and management experience. Water Safety for Swim Coaches (Red Cross) or ASCA Swim Coach Level 2 are preferred. The Lead Swim Coach must have proven swimming performance, experience at the national level (D1 or D2 Collegiate) is preferred. This job is 90% outdoors and can be in extreme hot or cold weather conditions. This job requires lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
