Summary/Objective

This position is responsible for the running of the men’s and women’s swim team; recruiting, budget management, athlete development, and all aspects pertaining to the rules of Lees-McRae College, the NCAA DII guidelines, and Conference Carolinas.

Essential Functions

Budget Management

  • Travel costs, equipment needs, scheduling, and recruiting.

Recruiting/Retention

  • Adequate player size to represent the college for successful program, develop recruiting contacts, find right-fit student athletes, retain and develop them, monitor academic progress.

Athlete Development

  • Manage Rhea-Lyons Indoor Swimming Pool. Develop DII level athletes for optimal athletic performance.
  • Must communicate effectively with all types of people and establish and maintain a strong working relationship with students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff and other college personnel.

Performs other duties as assigned. Have an understanding of the role of athletics at a quality liberal arts college as well as the ability to communicate that knowledge is essential. Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, written and oral, are a necessity.
