The Etown Dolphins Swim Team is conducting a search for a dynamic and energetic Head Age Group Coach. Etown Dolphins is a multi-site team that operates out of two pools in Elizabethtown, KY. We currently have approximately 100 swimmers ranging from age 6 to 18.

The Head Age Group Coach of the Etown Dolphins must demonstrate leadership and responsibility for the administration aspects relating to the age group programs of the team as well as working with the Head Coach to build a great bridge between the Age Group and Senior groups. The Coach will be involved in all aspects of the Dolphins program, including (but not limited to) scheduling, training, performance, and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive, competitive program aimed at athletes age 12 and younger.
  • Plan and conduct 2-4 hours per day of on-deck coaching, working with our Age Group and Jr.Dolphins program (ages 6-12).
  • Communicate effectively with parents, swimmers, and other coaches (email, phone, face to face).
  • Coordinate and develop group goals and curriculum.
  • Coordinate online meet entries (Team Unify/Team Manager) for all age group meets.
  • Attend all scheduled swim meets, meetings, and team functions as required.
  • Assist Head Coach with planning seasonal practice and meet schedules.
  • Assist with team tryouts and swimmer assessments for group placement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree (exercise science, education, or related field preferred).

Minimum of 3 years successful experience as an Age Group Coach or Head Age Group Coach with a USA Swimming team is preferred.

ASCA Level 2 or above preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Positive and energetic presence with a passion for teaching technique.

Proficiency with Team Manager, Team Unify, meet entries, and communication.

Current CPR, First Aid, Coaches Safety, and Safe Sport certifications and membership in good standing with USA Swimming.

Preferred start date: September 2021

The position will remain open until filled. Salary range $20,000-$30,000, commensurate with experience. Additional earnings may be available with High School Coach position, Masters Swimming program, and Swim Lessons program.
