Clovis Swim Club and Clovis Unified School District is seeking an enthusiastic and organized full-time coach with the proficiency to direct and lead our senior and/or top age-group swimmers. This coach will split time on deck and in the Aquatics office in a role that includes: customer service, staff leadership, and office administration.
Responsibilities:
- Lead coach for one group and potentially assist another, approximately 15 hours per week.
- Office administrative duties: answering phone messages and email, approximately 12 hours per week.
- Lead our lifeguard training and manage lifeguard personnel, seasonally 4-6 hours per week.
- Lead summer league coaches training/mentorship and assist as a meet director for up to 4 summer league meets per year, seasonally 7-8 hours per week.
- Lead athlete (age group and senior) social activities (1-2 per season).
- Attend 1-2 swim meets per month.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years competitive coaching with age group or senior level swimmers.
- Must be able to manage, inspire, and engage with 20+ swimmers in a training group. Should be able to show a proven record with regard to athlete retention and team growth.
- Must be able to initiate and maintain athlete and parent communication regarding commitment and development from the age group through the senior and national levels of competition.
- Must be able to foster a dynamic environment of excellence in swimming through drills, dryland, training, and racing.
- Must have certification to instruct lifeguard training or be willing to gain certification to instruct. Prior experience in lifeguard management or direction is a plus.
- Must have experience with any/all of the following programs: Hy-Tek/Active.net Software, Team Unify, or Captyn. Training in Excel is a plus.
- Must have exceptional customer service skills and phone etiquette.
Compensation: Approximately $40,000 salary. (Other means of income are available, such as swim lessons and possible opportunities to coach at the High School and College level)
This position offers the Clovis Unified School District full benefits package; including CA state medical insurance, 10 days paid time off (annual), and CA state employee retirement accrual. USA Swimming membership and professional (certification) costs are covered by the club. Clovis Swim Club has a broad budget for continuing education for all of our staff.
