SwimAtlanta in Dacula, GA has an immediate opening for a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Coach. SwimAtlanta has defined swim instruction in Atlanta since 1977 and is the leading competitive swim club in Georgia, as well as a USA Swimming Gold Medal Club. Candidates for this position must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as enthusiasm for teaching and the sport of swimming.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Head Coach, write and deliver age and skill-appropriate swim practices on deck for various groups.
- Create a positive and safe experience for all athletes.
- Assist Head Coach in planning, coordinating, and facilitating team tryouts and swimmer assessments for group placement.
- Fill in for other coaching groups as needed and other duties as assigned.
- Respond to member questions regarding SwimAtlanta’s programs, policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized pool area.
- Attend 1-2 swim meets per month on weekends.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum two years of professional coaching experience or extensive experience in/around the sport of swimming.
- Ability to obtain and maintain USA Swimming Coaching Certification.
- Passion for coaching and developing swimmers of all ages.
- Enthusiasm for learning and furthering coaching education.
- Evening/weekend availability.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
The ideal candidate must be dependable, have a passion for high quality work, have coaching experience and be willing to work within our holistic coaching philosophy. Hourly wage based on experience and level of availability.
This is a part time position consisting of approximately 10-15 hours per week and 1-2 meets per month.
