Age Group Coach & Meet Administration

Location: 895 Miamisburg Centerville Road, Washington Township, OH, USA

This is a full-time position paying $30,000-35,000 per year (commensurate with experience) with medical stipends, phone stipends and retirement options available. The Sharks will cover and/or reimburse approved travel expenses for away meets, certifications both required and supplemental, and continuing education through coaching clinics or USA Swimming online learning programs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of stroke mechanics and training techniques. This candidate will also be able to communicate effectively and timely with the coaching staff, swimmers and parents as needed.

Duties for the coach include, but are not limited to: 

*Motivating swimmers of all ages to be great in a positive way

*Developing and implementing a seasonal plan for the Mako and Lemon Shark groups.

*Assisting with Pre-Senior, Senior and other groups as needed

*Meet administrative duties include, but are not limited to, verifying and sending entries for

away meets in a timely manner, Entry Chair for 3 home meets and eventual home meet

setup following some training.

*Attending staff meetings as scheduled

*Attending swim meets locally and out of state (Indiana and Kentucky mostly). 2-3 per

month

*Attending Sharks’ team functions (Banquet, JO Party, etc.)

*Assisting in recruiting and attending swim clinics at local summer league pools in the

area. (June-July only)

 

Requirements:

*Must have, or obtain prior to start date, all relevant USA Swimming coach certifications

(Adult & Pediatric/Child CPR and AED, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, USA

Swimming Background Check, Athlete Protection Training)

*Must pass Washington Township Background Check

*Preferred, 2 years USA/YMCA coaching experience with 10 and Under

Swimmers

* Preferred, 1-2 years experience with Team Unify, Team Manager, and/or Meet Manager software.

*Must have/demonstrate professionalism, decision making skills, a willingness to follow

directives from Head Coach, Asst. Head Coach and/or Board.

*Must have a desire to learn and continue coaching education

 

*Monthly Safe Sport group Meetings

*Attending staff meetings as scheduled

*Attending swim Meets locally and out of state (Indiana and Kentucky mostly)

*Attending Sharks’ team functions (Banquet, JO Party, etc.)

*Working with other full-time staff to recruit Non-USA athletes from Summer Leagues

in the area

 

Requirements:

*Must have, or obtain prior to start date, all relevant USA Swimming coach certifications

Swimming Background Check, Athlete Protection Training)

*Must pass Washington Township Background Check

*Preferred, 2 years USA/YMCA coaching experience with 12 and Under

swimmers

*Must have/demonstrate professionalism, decision making skills, a willingness to follow

directives from Head Coach, Asst. Head Coach and/or Board.

*Must have basic working knowledge of Team Unify and Social Media platforms or be

willing to learn

*Must have a desire to learn and continue coaching education
