Stafford International School ke Jayden De Silva ne 100m butterfly event me ak minute ke barrier ko break karne wale first junior national swimmer bankar Sri Lanka ke swimming history me apna naam record karaya hai. Unki ye record- breaking performance Colombo ke Isipathana College Swimming Pool Complex me Sri Lanka Aquatics Sports Union (SLASU) dwara held kiye gaye National and Junior National Short Course Swimming Championships me dekhen mila.
De Silva ne 100m butterfly final me 59.58 second ka time nikalte huye gold medal jeeta aur Nalanda College ke Amodya Dulshan dwara 2018 me banaye gaye 1:01.03 ke previous national record ko break kiya. Unhone St. Peter’s College ke AIM Haathim ke Jayden ko kadi takkar di, jinhone 1:00.04 me race complete ki aur old record bhi break kiya.
De Silva ka dominance 200m butterfly tak extend hua, jahan unhi 2:17.22 ka time nikala, jo Vihanga Caldera ke 2022 me banaye gaye 2:18.87 ke previous junior national record ko pichhe chhod deta hai. Impressively, De Silva ne pahle hi 2:17.45 ke time ke saath record break kiya tha, jisme unhone consistency and skill dono dikhaya.
De Silva ne 100m backstroke me 1:02.91 ke commanding time ke saath gold jeetkar apni versatility ko dikhaya, jo silver medal se 3 second aage raha. 200m backstroke me, unhone 2:18.92 ke time ke saath silver medal haasil kiya, lekin top spot se mamuli antar se chook gaye.
50m butterfly me De Silva ne ak aur silver medal jeeta, unhone ak close contested final me 27.13 second ka time nikala.
14 saal ke iss sensation ne championship ka samapan 5 medals ke saath kiya- 3 gold and 2 silver. Unke gold medals 100m butterfly, 200m butterfly and 100m backstroke me aaye, dono butterfly events me unhone record break perform kiya. Unhone 200m backstroke and 50m butterfly me silver medals jeete.
