Drexel Earns Dominant Sweep of Lehigh As Men’s Team Moves To 3-0

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women’s swimming and diving team capped its final meet of the year with a 145–97 win over Lehigh, improving to 2-1-1 on the season.

Drexel earned eight  first place victories, including wins from Brittany Corbett in the 400 free, Mari Alencar in the 150 and 50 free, and Megan Ehrnfeldt in the 50 butterfly. The Dragons also secured strong diving scores from Lada Volkov and added key relay points to control the meet from start to finish.

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men’s swimming and diving team closed out 2025 with a strong 175–67 win over Lehigh, improving to 3–0 on the season.

The Dragons won 11 events, highlighted by victories from Sebastian Smith in the 100 IM and 50 fly, Roko Krpina in the 400 free, and freshman Matas Cinga in both the 150 and 100 free. Drexel also swept the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events and picked up a mixed relay win to cap the meet.

PHILADELPHIA – Lehigh’s women’s swimming and diving team traveled to Drexel University on Saturday morning to face the Dragons. The Mountain Hawks fell to Drexel 145-97.

Lehigh still had plenty of top finishers in the dual meet. First year Eliza Johnson had two top finishes, as she won both of her individual events. Johnson first won the 100-yard individual medley in 59.37, then followed that up in the 50-yard backstroke, where she narrowly won by two-hundredths of a second with a time of 26.98. The Mountain Hawks had a second podium finisher for the individual medley, as senior Caitlin Deitch placed third (1:00.67). Deitch also grabbed second place finishes in the 50-yard butterfly and the 100-yard freestyle, swimming 26.01 and 53.54, respectively.

Sophomore Zoe Davies and senior Mairin Ludwig took home wins as well. Davies led the 50-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 30.56. Ludwig got her victory over the 300-yard individual medley field, swimming 3:19.02, which gapped the rest of the field by seven and a half seconds. Ludwig also reached the podium in the 400-yard freestyle. She finished at 4:04.02, which was good for third.

First-year Genevieve Cody secured top finishes over multiple freestyle events. Cody earned second over 50 yards, where she swam 24.27. She also placed second over 150-yards, touching in 1:24.26. Right behind Cody finishing third was junior Eliza Meth, who swam 1:26.08.

The Mountain Hawks also reached the podium in two relay events. The team of Johnson, Davies, Cody, and Clara Moschella placed second in the 200-yard individual medley, swimming 1:45.89. This meet also had a mixed 200-yard freestyle relay. Moschella and Ludwig were joined by Aaron Williams and Davis Woerner, and they placed third (1:31.74)

On the diving board, junior Kate Whitaker kept her dominant season going with two podium finishes. She first placed second at the one-meter height, scoring 212.75 points. She bettered that at three-meters, winning with a score of 227.10. Whitaker was joined on the podium by first-year Jayden Yochai, who placed third (207.55).

The Mountain Hawks look to bounce back after a month off. They will face Marist on January 10 at home.

PHILADELPHIA – Lehigh’s men’s swimming and diving team traveled to compete against Drexel on Saturday morning. The Mountain Hawks fell to the Dragons 175-67.

Jack Deppe was Lehigh’s sole event winner in the competition. The sophomore broke the three-minute mark and swam 2:58.98 to win the 300-yard individual medley. The Mountain Hawks also came second in that event, as first-year Andrew Takach finished right behind in 3:02.52. Deppe also has another top individual medley finish at the 100-yard distance. He swam 52.03, which was good for second.

Sophomore Frankie Prekop was Lehigh’s top swimmer in both of his individual events. He placed third in the 50-yard freestyle, swimming 21.69. Prekop bettered his position over 100-yards, where his 46.60 freestyle swim earned him second place.

Lehigh earned podium finishes in four other individual events. Sophomore Will Pestrichelli earned third in the 400-yard freestyle, where he swam 3:41.41. At the 150-yard freestyle distance, first-year Braeden Roach swam 1:14.35, which placed him third. Senior Ben Kisker also earned third in the 50-yard backstroke, he swam 23.93. Finally, sophomore Jared Rabadam swam 27.22 in the 50-yard breaststroke to place third.

The Mountain Hawks also reached the podium in two relay events. The team of Rabadam, Roach, Tristan Ronayne, and Spencer Campbell placed third in the 200-yard individual medley, swimming 1:35.87. This meet also had a mixed 200-yard freestyle relay. Senior Aaron Williams and sophomore Davis Woerner were joined by Mairin Ludwig and Clara Moschella, and they placed third (1:31.74).

Graduate Student Jack Grotke placed fourth in both diving events at the meet. He scored 149.60 at the one-meter height, and 131.65 at three-meters.

The Mountain Hawks look to bounce back after a month off. They will face Marist on January 10 at home.
