LEWISBURG, Pa. – Freshman Julia Iwanow captured three individual events, highlighting Binghamton’s performance at the Bucknell Fall Swimming & Diving Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the Kinney Natatorium. There was no team scoring kept at the meet, which included the Bearcats, Bison as well as Seton Hall.

“We had a hard week of training and were still able to come up with some great performances against tough competition,” head coach Jerry Cummiskey said. “After our two-day meet at Bryant last week, we swam faster than we expected today.”

Iwanow, who has been named the America East Rookie of the Week the past three weeks, was first in the 200 IM (2:06.21), 100 breast (1:02.53) and 200 breast (2:14.07) on Saturday. It marked the third straight meet that she has swept all three of those events. For the season, Iwanow has now won 11 individual events.

In addition to her three victories, Iwanow broke the 200 breast school record of 2:15.38, which was set by Lauren Kuzma in 2024. Furthermore, her 100 breast time broke the Binghamton freshman record of 1:03.89 set by Corrine Zotter in 2012 and her 200 IM mark eclipsed Juliette Phillips’ 2024 freshman record of 2:06.57.

Other first-place finishers on the women’s side at Bucknell on Saturday included sophomore Eva Smith in the 100 back (56.34) and senior Elizabeth Tirado in the one-meter diving competition (241.20). Smith is now unbeaten in the 100 back through four meets this season while Tirado has posted four first-place diving finishes.

On the men’s side, sophomore Logan Shriver took top honors in the 1,650 free (16:02.40).
