Sydney Vandenberg joined the Asheville Bulldogs as a freshman for the 2015-2016 season. Vandenberg is a valued member of the distance and IM group for the Bulldog squad.
Vandenberg continually dropped time in the 400IM throughout the season. At the 2016 Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Conference Championships, she scored valuable 14th place points in the B final. She finished the race with a season best time of 4:37.18. Vandenberg raced to the wall with a personal best time of 5:11.60 in the 500 freestyle. Additionally, Vandenberg earned 24th place points and a season best time in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 18:05.29.
Vandenberg looks forward to her sophomore season where she plans to continue training distance freestyle and the 400 IM.
