Background
Realizing he was too short for basketball, Brian traded his NBA dreams for a pair of goggles at age 12. He swam with the a local club team and eventually joined the high school team. Brian also enjoyed playing water polo. With an alumni legacy leading him, Brian decided to go to John Carroll University where he majors in business.
High School
Brian competed for the Loyola Academy Ramblers under head coach Mike Hengalmann. He was awarded the team’s “workhorse award” and through his four years, Brian realized how much he loved the sport.
College
2014-2015: For Brian, the highlight of his freshman collegiate season was that he has zero DQs. Along with his technically sound season, Brian was also successful in his individual events (500 and 200-yard freestyle and 100 and 200-yard butterfly) and a solid contributor to the Carroll relays. At the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship meet, he swam the anchor leg of the runner-up 400-yard freestyle and broke the 200-yard fly school record.
