Austin Karper

Austin started swimming in his home town of Carlisle PA at a young age. Throughout his high school career at Carlisle he was a two time PIAA AAA District 3 qualifier as well as being a two time YMCA National Championship qualifier. Austin committed to Westminster College in 2012.

College

2012-2013

Austin was very successful in his first year with the titans. At the 2013 Presidents Athletic Conference championship meet (Longnecker Invitational) he posted three personal best times in the 100 and 200 backstroke events as well as the 500 yard freestyle. He took  fourth, third, and fifth respectively helping the titans claim their first swim and dive conference victory in five years.

2013-2014

Austin saw varied success in his sophomore season posting a best time at the Wooster invitational mid season meet in the 100 back. At the Presidents Athletic Conference championship meet he posted a best time in the 500 free. At that meet Austin finished fourth, fifth, and sixth in the 500 free, 100 back, and 200 back respectively. Austin efforts earned him a spot on the All-Conference second team.

2014-2015

Austin finished another strong season with the titans in his junior year. For the third consecutive year he finished top 8 in all of his individuals at the Presidents Athletic Conference championship meet. He posted a best time in the 100 back as well as swimming the backstroke leg on a school record holding 200 medley relay. His considerable scoring effort helped to earn the Titans their sixth PAC conference championship in 12 years. Austin performance earned him a spot on the All-Conference first team.

Personal

Austin is a history major at Westminster. He enjoys reading, swimming, and hanging out with his friends.
