Abigail Gonzalez
Abigail Gonzalez was born on April 7th, 1996 in Atlanta, Georgia to parents Kelly and Bob Gonzalez. She was born and raised in Georgia, where she began her swimming career. At the age of five, Abigail’s mother who swam throughout her childhood, encouraged her daughter to join the swim team. In 2004, Abigail joined the Tidal Wave Swim Club, and swam under coach Jim McGinnis for the next decade until she graduated high school. In addition to swimming club, Abigail joined the Allatoona High School swim team her freshman year. She received a varsity letter each year, and was chosen to be captain her junior and senior year. Once Abigail graduated, she ventured north to attend Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts where she currently swims under coach Mindy Williams. Abigail specializes in Individual Medley events.
Club
Abigail swam on on Tidal Wave Swimming from 2004-2014. She was an accomplished swimmer, and qualified for Age Groups multiple times. In addition to Tidal Wave, Abigail competed on her high school team where she was captain for two years. Further, Abigail was on the high school’s first team to go and compete at States.
College-Simmons College

In her freshman year at Simmons College, Abigail made a great first impression among coaches and teammates. Unfortunately, she experienced a set back when she injured her back in October of 2014, but despite this injury Abigail qualified for the 2015 NEISDA Championships.
Personal
Abigail remains undecided in her major, but is very excited to continue with her college career as a Simmons Shark!
