SMITHFIELD, R.I.- Bryant head swimming and diving coach Katie Cameron has announced the hiring of Billy Gordon as assistant coach. Gordon comes to Smithfield after four years as an assistant at LaSalle University in Philadelphia.

During his tenure with the Explorers, Gordon led both sprint and mid-distance groups and coached athletes who broke Atlantic-10 records and set NCAA Provisional qualifying times. Gordon competed collegiately at East Carolina University and was a Conference-USA finalist during all four years.

Coach Cameron: “We are beyond excited to welcome Billy Gordon to the Bulldog family! Billy is exactly what we were looking for to complete the staff. His personality, high energy, ability to connect with people, and experience at the college level are perfect for us! He comes in highly recommended by colleagues whom I respect. We are confident Billy will help us to continue to achieve our goals.”

Coach Gordon: “I am very excited to head to Rhode Island to be part of the Bryant swimming and diving program. First off, I want to thank Coach Katie for giving me this opportunity. When talking to her about the culture of the team and her vision for the program, I was hooked immediately and wanted to be a part of something special. I can’t wait for the upcoming season and to work with the student-athletes. Go Bulldogs!”
