Chad Le Clos Named 2014 Youth Olympics Ambassador – Video Announcement
Le Clos was one of the stars of the first Youth Olympics in Singapore in 2010 where he won 5 total medals, including gold in the 200 fly. He is also easily the most successful alumni of that meet so far, winning gold in the 200 fly at the Olympics and following it up with World Championships in both the 100 and 200 butterfly at the 2013 Barcelona World Championships. Missy Franklin, The Most Famous Fresh in College Swimming History – Complete Cal Swimming Video Press Conference
This is the first instance we can remember of a college swimmer holding a press conference at the beginning of the year. In order to allow Franklin the opportunity to adapt to her new environment as a college freshman and as a member of the Cal women’s swimming & diving team, Wednesday’s press conference will be her only media availability until early October, according to Cal’s media staff. Haughey 100 Freestyle Junior World Championships – Post Race Video Interview
The title went to Hong Kong’s Siobhan Haughey in 54.47, which broke the Meet Record set by American Lia Neal in 2011 at 54.90. That also re-broke the Hong Kong National Age Group Record for 15-17′s that she set in prelims, and came within a tenth of former NCAA standout Hannah Wilson’s overall National Record.

Australia’s Mack Horton has established himself as the swimmer of these championships, and in the boys’ 800 free on Wednesday, put up what is undoubtedly the swim of the meet so far.

In what could be termed a mild upset, American Kylie Stewart of the Dynamo Swim club won the girls’ 200 backstroke in 2:09.74, which is a new Championship Record.
