Thursday Finals Heat Sheet
The second night of competition kicks off with the 500 free tonight in Austin, Texas. The girls race looks to be a close one between Sydney Schoeck, a Texas commit, and Kayla Han, an Indiana commit, as the two were separated by only 0.36 seconds this morning. Schoeck already won the battle yesterday in the 1000 free.
The rest of the night features the 200 IM, 50 free, as well as the 4×100 medley relay on both sides. Waterloo already set a West Meet Record last night in the boys 4×50 medley relay.
GIRLS’ 500 FREESTYLE – Finals

After finishing 2nd in the 1000 free yesterday, Kayla Han touched first tonight in the 500 free. The Indiana commit led from the start and was about a second and a half off her lifetime best of a 4:36.88 as she touched in a 4:38.28. Han flipped in a 1:50.88 at the 200 mark, about half a second ahead of Sydney Schoeck who flipped in a 1:51.30.
Touching 2nd in a 4:41.29 was Sydney Schoeck who dropped two seconds off her previous lifetime best of a 4:43.10 from March. Schoeck also swam a best time last night en route to a win in the 1000 free. Schoeck is committed to Texas for fall 2026.
Han was not the only Indiana commit in the ‘A’ final as Anne Dickinson touched 3rd in a 4:42.89, dropping over a second from her previous best of a 4:44.09 that she swam only a month ago to win the Wisconsin Division 2 Girls High School State title. She entered this fall with a lifetime best of a 4:48.99.
Notably swimming out of the ‘B’ final was Isabella Muir who dropped over four seconds from her prelims time to touch in a 4:45.75, a time that would have been 4th. She dropped over 11 seconds on the day.

After finishing 5th in the event a year ago in a 4:20.12, Maxwell Stanislaus swam to the win tonight in a 4:16.90. That dropped almost two seconds from his best time of a 4:18.89 that he swam during prelims a year ago. Stanislaus led from the start and is committed to Stanford for next fall.
Finishing in 2nd was Grant Lilly who dropped two and a half seconds off his lifetime best of a 4:20.09 that he swam back in February. The Notre Dame commit has dropped over five seconds in the last year as he swam a 4:23.24 during prelims a year ago to make the ‘B’ final.
Texas commit Andrew Maksymowski dropped over four seconds from his previous lifetime best of a 4:22.43 that he swam a month ago to finish 3rd in a 4:18.06 today. His lifetime best coming into the fall was a 4:22.64.

15 year old Gabi Brito swam to a win in a 1:55.99, just off her best of a 1:55.76 that she swam at the start of November. Despite being off her lifetime best, it was an improvement from her time of a 1:56.49 that she swam for 3rd a year ago.
Fellow 15 year old Mikayla Tan swam to a 1:56.13 for 2nd, dropping over two seconds off her lifetime best 1:58.96 from this meet a year ago that she swam in prelims for 10th. Tan had a huge breaststroke split of a 31.94 compared to Brito’s 34.49 to almost overtake the lead but Brito was already far enough ahead.
Cal commit Kelsey Zhang was 3rd in a 1:57.09, dropping 0.06 seconds from her best time of a 1:57.15 that she swam for 4th at this meet exactly a year ago.

After finishing 9th in a 1:44.79 a year ago, 16 year old Shareef Elaydi dropped a best time 1:43.82 en route to a win tonight. Elaydi did not have the lead until the end of the breaststroke leg. That moved Elaydi up to #6 all-time in the 15-16 age group.
Lousiville commit Ty Thomas entered the meet as the #18 seed but dropped almost five seconds on the day to touch 2nd in a 1:44.21. His previous best time was a 1:49.05 that he swam just three weeks ago. Thomas has made huge strides in the last year as he did not even final in the event at Winter Juniors a year ago when he finished 28th in a 1:49.16.
Jackson Hartzler, an Ohio State commit for 2027, swam to 3rd in a 1:44.49, dropping from his previous best time of a 1:47.33 that he swam in February. Hartzler also made huge strides in the last year as he was 23rd at this meet last year in a 1:50.01 but was faster in prelims with a 1:48.92.

Gabi Brito swam to her 2nd individual win of the night with a 22.09 50 freestyle. That marked a personal best as her previous best time was a 22.30 from March. She also improved from a year ago as she swam a 22.49 for 7th at this meet last year. With her best time tonight, Brito now sits as the #15 performer all-time in the 15-16 age group, and has another year to move up the ranks as she is just 15.
Fellow 15 year old Avery Daigle swam to a lifetime best 22.21 in prelims and was just off of that tonight with a 22.28 for 2nd. Daigle was faster than her entry time of a 22.80 that had her as the #15 seed. That best time was from March at Justin Sectionals.
2027 Tennessee commit Adalynn Biegler touched 3rd tonight in a 22.28, just 0.12 seconds off of her lifetime best of a 22.16.

Jordan Ragland swam to a lifetime best 19.28 en route to a win on the boys side. Ragland entered the meet with a best time of a 19.61 from May. Last year at this meet, he swam a 20.16 for 14th.
Touching 2nd was Miles Blackson-Dunbar as the Tennessee commit touched in a 19.45. That was faster than his best time of a 19.53 coming into today, although he was slightly faster in prelims with a 19.37.
Tyler Porter was the top seed coming into the meet with a lifetime best 19.49 and was just off of that tonight with a 19.52 for 3rd. Porter is committed to Arizona State for next fall.
GIRLS’ 4×100 Medley Relay –Finals

Bellevue Club Swim Team swam to a win touching in a 3:36.15. Sutton Forbis notably led off in a lifetime best 52.89, dropping from her previous best of a 53.63 that she swam in March. Forbis handed off the lead to Gracyn Kehoe who split a 1:01.10 on the breaststroke leg before Clare Watson (52.46) and Hailey Weiler (49.70) helped the relay to the win.
Gabi Brito led off in a 53.58 for Beach Cities Alpha. That was just 0.01 off her lifetime best. That relay also included Andi Taylor, Eryn Arnold, and Sora Koike as they touched in a 3:37.53 for 2nd.
Also highlighting relays was Alyssa Ton of Irvine Novaquatics who anchored in a 48.89, the fastest free split of the night. Irvine Novaquatics finished 4th in a 3:39.20.
Boys’ 4×100 Medley Relay –Finals

Waterloo was led off by Benjamin Jaggers who swam to a 46.95, the fastest backstroke split of the night. That was over a second drop from his lifetime best 47.96 from March. Waterloo stayed ahead for the rest of the relay as Max Laine (53.48), Austin Ross (48.92), and Julian Rusk (43.98) swam to a 3:13.33 in the win.
DART’s Aidan Collins had the fastest fly split of the field with a 46.85 as the team of Brandon Ha, Isaac Carsel, Collins, and Tommy Jiang swam to a 3:13.86 for 2nd.
Nathan Foucu blasted a 42.54 anchor leg to help Quicksilver move up to 3rd. Based on results, the team would have been 8th after the butterfly leg. Foucu, a Stanford commit, has a flat start best time of a 43.54 so his swim tonight bodes well for his individual race later this weekend.

Kinda makes sense, but he’ll be a pretty big contributor somewhere else , 4:18.0 is no joke
Yeah, I feel bad but also if look at the other two Americans, they’re fairly close to his PBs in his main events and that’s not even counting the foreign guys coming in. Cox just went 1:34.3 Carpenter is a 1:36 200 free guy, and Maksymowski is 1:35. Plus before today he was kinda starting to stagnate, this 4:18.0 was a big break through.
it could be interesting to see the fastest ~5 splits from each leg from both meets
