Sara Curtis Scares Italian Record With 24.31 50 Free On Night 3 of NCAP Qualifier

2026 NCAP Qualifier

Sara Curtis swam to a 24.31 on Saturday night in the 50 freestyle and was only 0.02 seconds off her own Italian record in the event that sits at a 24.29 that she swam in April at the Italian Championships during prelims. She swam a 24.31 in the final at the Italian Championships. Her swim in the 50 marks the 2nd fastest of her career.

Touching behind Curtis was Bryn Greenwaldt who swam to a 25.06, just off her lifetime best 24.84 from the Fort Lauderdale Open. Greenwaldt is still relatively new to long course as this meet marks just her 4th LCM meet of her career.

16 year old Lane Francis dropped 8.70 seconds off her lifetime best in the 200 fly to touch in a 2:18.99. This marked the 3rd time that she ever swam the event. Fellow 16 year old Mia Eubank dropped over two seconds to win the 400 free in a 4:20.35.

The men’s side saw Matvei Namakonov win the 50 free in a 23.02, a time that is only 0.12 off his lifetime best from last June that he swam at the Bahamas National Championships.

After already winning the 800 free and 200 free, Alex Grocholski won the 400 free in a 4:03.15, a 2.10 second drop from his previous best time.
