Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Two-time Minnesota high school state bronze medalist Lucy Paczosa has announced her verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Wyoming beginning in the fall of 2027. She publicized the news on SwimCloud, writing:
I am excited to announce my commitment to the University of Wyoming! I would like to thank my coaches, parents and friends for helping guide me in my decisions! I am supper excited for these next couple of years!
A rising senior at Stillwater Area High School in Minnesota, Paczosa has been a member of the school’s varsity swimming team for the past three years. She currently trains year-round with Saint Croix Swim Club, where she primarily specializes in sprint freestyle and butterfly.
Paczosa has improved steadily each season, and the 2025-26 short course season was no exception, as she dropped from 23.66/51.11 to 23.33/50.74 in the sprint free events and from 57.08 to 56.54 in the 100 fly.
She set her current sprint free personal bests at the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Class AA State Championships in November, where she finished fourth in both the 50 free (23.33) and 100 free (50.82, 50.74 in prelims), and helped Stillwater Area to third in both the 200 medley relay (22.81 anchor) and 400 free relay (50.76 anchor).
Paczosa swam her 100 fly personal best of 56.54 at the MN RSC President’s Day Meet in February. She also owns a 200 free personal best of 1:51.89 from the 2025 Minnesota Senior Short Course Championships, with a season best of 1:53.10 set at the MN FOXJ Winter Classic in January.
Top SCY Times:
- 50 Freestyle: 23.33
- 100 Freestyle: 50.74
- 200 Freestyle: 1:51.89
- 100 Butterfly: 56.54
A Division I Mid-Major program, Wyoming competes in the Mountain West Conference, with the women’s team placing sixth out of 11 at this past season’s conference championships. Paczosa’s current personal bests would have qualified for the ‘C’ final in the 50 and 100 free, and she’s not too far outside the cutoffs in the 100 fly (54.92) and 200 free (1:51.49) either, and she still has two full seasons of training ahead before her first conference meet.
Paczosa joins Emma Wood, Quincy Taliaferro, and Amber Klingensmith in committing to Wyoming’s class of 2031 so far.
