TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University swimming & diving teams sent four swimmers to the Toyota U.S. Open this week, while the dive teams competed in the Retriever Diving Invite hosted by UMBC. Jed Garner set a Towson 200 breast long course record on Saturday, while Shannon Parrau set a UMBC Aquatics Complex record in the 3 meter dive.
Saturday saw the men’s and women’s diving teams in Baltimore for the Retriever Diving Invite. Shannon Parrau won the 1-meter dive, scoring 235.05, while Lara Booth Alam (218.05) placed fourth, Sara ParksVold (202.5) finished seventh and Liliana Bermudez (194.45) placed tenth.
In the women’s 3-meter, Parrau completed a sweep of the boards with a UMBC Aquatics Complex record 282.85 and Booth Alam came in second with a score of 245.30 with Bermudez placing 8th (206.0).
Sam Tennell scored 324.00 to take the top spot in the men’s 1-meter and was followed by Aidan Clark in second place with a score of 281.65. Grady Gardner placed eighth, scoring 229.65. The men’s 3-meter dive saw Tennell (242.05), Clark (219.30), and Gardner (214.65) finish fifth, sixth, and seventh, respectively.
The Tigers return to action on December 18th when the Tiger women host James Madison at Burdick pool for a dual meet, diving begins at 10 a.m. followed by swimming at noon.

BALTIMORE — Anders Logas won the 3 meter and came in third in the 1 meter as the UMBC Diving program hosted its inaugural Retriever Diving Invite on Saturday afternoon.
Logas scored 299.55 to win the 3M, with Kaleb Cave (259.35) and Grant Moore (244.80) taking third and fourth in the event. Logas scored 280.05 in the 1M to take bronze, while Moore (259.80) and Cave (249.45) took fifth and sixth.
On the Women’s side, Ember Stennett’s fourth place finish in the 3M led the way for the Dawgs. Her score of 236.45 in the event was just ahead of teammate Isabella Evers, who placed fifth.
Evers was the top UMBC finisher in the 1M, as she placed fifth and Alicia Buteau took sixth.
The Retrievers don’t compete again until January 24th for Senior Day when they host Mary Washington for a 1 p.m. diving only meet.
