2025 WORLD AQUATICS SWIMMING WORLD CUP – Westmont

Day 3 Prelims Heat Sheet

A quieter day today in terms of scratches, with the biggest piece of news one we already had an inkling about. Kate Douglass has skipped the 200 IM at several major international competitions over the last few years and scratches out today, as she did in Carmel last week.

That leaves the runway open for Alex Walsh, who has decided to forgo the 50 breast/200 IM double, scratching her #4 seed in the former. Walsh took 3rd in the 100 breast last night, but won the 200 IM last week and will harbor hopes of a Triple Crown in the event.

Trenton Julian has scratched both his swims this morning, and will not be in the final heat of the 400 IM tonight either, as his Westmont stop appears to have finished with a bronze medal in the 200 fly last night. He was entered in the 50 fly and 200 free here, but will not swim either.

After scratching both events yesterday, Lewis Clareburt will also skip the 200 free today, and it will remain to be seen if he is in Toronto for the final stop. Luke Vatev, the #2 recruit in the High School class of 2027, who recently committed to Stanford, will also forgo the 200 free in favor of the 100 back.

Taylor Ruck will not swim the 200 back today, instead focusing on the 100 free. Lilla Minna Abraham has done the same, scratching the 100 fly but retaining her  #18 seed in the 100 free.
