Daria Klepikova Shatters Russian National Record in the 100 Fly with 56.42

2025 World Championships

Daria Klepikova, who is representing Neutral Athletes ‘B’ in Singapore, kicked off her campaign at the 2025 World Championships in style with a record-breaking performance en route to taking 4th in the semifinals of the 100 fly.

Klepikova shattered the Russian national record in 56.42, lowering the standard below 57 for the first time. The previous record was a time of 57.17 set by Svetlana Chimrova back in 2017.

In addition to dropping .75 off of the national record, Klepikova also knocked over a second off of her previous lifetime best time of 57.46, which she had set just at the 2025 Russian Championship in April.

Klepikova was out in 26.19, which was quicker than the opening 50 of her former best time a few months ago. She came back in 30.23, dropping .71 off of her closing 50 split from the Russian Championship.
