GRANVILLE, OH – The Denison men and Kenyon women continue to lead the team standings following the second full day of competition at the 2025 NCAC Swimming & Diving Championships at the Trumbull Aquatics Center on the campus of Denison University. The Big Red men won four events and broke two NCAC records on night two to hold first place with 716 points, while the Owl women captured two individual titles and set a new NCAC record to maintain the lead in the team standings with 721 points.
Kenyon sits in second with 565 points after winning one men’s event on Thursday evening, followed by Wabash (416), Wooster (325), Oberlin (324), DePauw (282.5), Hiram (182.5), Ohio Wesleyan (169) and Wittenberg (156). In the women’s competition, Denison won two events and set one NCAC record on the night and sits in second with 685 points, followed by DePauw (387), Wooster (357), Oberlin (279.5), Wittenberg (228.5), Ohio Wesleyan (197) and Hiram (109).
To start the night off, Denison junior Quinn Brown (Portland, OR/Grant) climbed the podium after recording the night’s first NCAC record, clocking in with an NCAA “B” cut time of 4:47.51 to earn the 500 freestyle title. Kenyon extended its lead to 75 points in the women’s standings posting 141 points in the 500 free. Owl senior and two-time NCAC Swimmer of the Year (2023, 2024) Jennah Fadely (Siler City, NC/Jordan Matthews) earned her third-consecutive title in the 200 IM after touching the wall first with an NCAA “B” cut time of 2:01.50. The Kenyon women maintained their lead in the team standings after claiming 119 points in the “A” finals in the 200 IM. Denison junior Grace Kadlecik (Lansing, NY/Lansing) helped the Big Red pull within 28 points of Kenyon in the team standings after outreaching the competition in the 50 free with an NCAA “B” cut time of 23.11 for her second-consecutive 50 free title. Kenyon closed out night two topping the podium in the 400-medley relay with an NCAC record and NCAA “B” cut time. The Owl relay team of junior Gwen Eisenbeis (Okemos, MI/Williamston), Fadely, and seniors Celia Ford (Silver Spring, MD/Albert Einstein) and Sydney Geboy (Milwaukee, WI/Nicolet) finished in 3:39.88.
In the first men’s event of the evening, Denison retained its lead in the men’s team standings thanks to a one-two-three finish in the 500 freestyle with senior Christian McIntire (Nashville, TN/Ravenwood) touching the wall first in an NCAA “B” cut time of 4:27.12 for his second-consecutive NCAC title in the event. Big Red senior Patrick Daly (New Albany, OH/New Albany), the 2024 NCAC Swimmer of the Year, defended his title in the 200 IM in record-setting fashion as he posted a time of 1:46.58 to surpass the NCAC record, which he set a season ago, and earn an NCAA “B” cut. Denison’s team lead was extended out to 92 points thanks to seven Big Red swimmers in the “A” final of the 200 IM earning 200 points. In the 50 free, Kenyon junior Djordje Dragojlovic (Belgrade, Serbia/Nada Dimic), 2023 NCAC Newcomer of the Year, took home gold in an NCAA “B” cut time of 19.99, earning the Owls their second-consecutive 50 free title and cutting their deficit from first in the team standings to 76 points. In the diving well, Big Red junior Nick Fogel (Corcoran, MN/Providence Academy) brought home the NCAC one-meter title for the first time since 2019 with a regional-qualifying score of 526.55 points, while a one-two-three finish gave Denison 96 team points to take a 143-point lead into the final event of the evening. The Denison men closed out the night with a first-place showing in the 400 medley relay, as the foursome of sophomore Jack Hill (Leighton Buzzard, UK/Cedars Upper), seniors Elijah Venos (Pleasant Ridge, MI/Brother Rice) and Christian Narcelles (Springfield, OH/Springfield) and first-year Nick Hensel (Houston, TX/St. Johns) touched the wall in a new NCAC record and NCAA “B” cut time of 3:12.17.
The 2025 NCAC Swimming & Diving Championships continue through Saturday evening. Preliminary events start at 9:30 a.m., while finals begin at 6:00 p.m.
