QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH MIKE SMIECHOWSKI
“I’m pleased with the way the women swam today. Cornell is a very talented team, but we are demonstrating we can hang with them a lot better than two years ago, or even last year.”
“We picked up some wins, and Halle broke a pool record, a record which she set two years ago in a tech suit, today in just a regular dual meet suit.”
“There is a lot to build on, some things we identified that we can work on involving preparation at meets that we will have the opportunity to test again for mid-season champs.”
“I am excited to see how we can continue to build off this momentum at the Magnus Invite and get a gauge of where we are at with a little bit of rest, which we haven’t had yet.”

“I’m so proud of Sanayia’s resilience. She showed today that the work we’ve done has impacted her diving in a great way.”

QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH MIKE SMIECHOWSKI
“It was a good day of racing for the men. I think our underclassmen are starting to adapt better and better each week to the training and the weight room.”
“I was surprised with some performances, and how we raced with this level of fatigue. We tested them this week and we responded well.”
“This meet gave us a good idea of who may need a little more adjustment to help climb out of the hole. Most of our men are bringing a great energy to practice, so I am looking forward to mid-season where we can get some fresh swims and reap the benefits of the work we put in the first semester.”
QUOTES FROM DIVING COACH ALEJANDRA FUENTES
“I’m very proud of the improvements our divers showed in today’s meet. We still have some more work to do, but they are responding great to the season plan, and I can see the confidence building every week.”
