FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State swimming and diving team won all 16 events on Friday afternoon defeating Pacific, 206-77 and Fresno Pacific, 215-61 at the Fresno State Aquatics Center.
Eight different ‘Dogs in 14 different events and both the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay teams earned first place in their respective events.
Senior Athena Clayson won both the 100 Back (55.76) & 200 Back (2:01.23), sophomore Wiktoria Dabrowska claimed the top spot in the 100 Free (51.99), 200 Free (1:52.72) & 500 Free (5:06.68) and freshman Samantha Arredondo placed first in the 100 Breast (1:05.41), 200 Breast (2:22.44) and 200 IM (2:07.73).
Senior diver Silvia Alessio came out on top on both the 1-Meter and 3-Meter diving scoring 296.70 points and 307.50 points, respectively. Sophomore Sera Hanagan posted a top time of 10:33.08 in the 1000 Free while redshirt senior Eleonora Trentin clocked a blazing time of 23.73 in the 50 Free.
Other winners included senior Mackenzie Hutler in the 200 Fly (2:05.98) and sophomore Julia Matney in the 100 Fly (56.41).
The Bulldogs return to the pool next Saturday (Oct. 29) traveling to Nevada for a Mountain West dual.

FRESNO, Calif. – The Pacific men’s and women’s swimming teams traveled to Fresno State Friday afternoon. The women’s team went 1-1 at the meet, defeating Fresno Pacific 206-52 and falling to Fresno State 206-77, bringing its season record to 3-2. The men’s team remains undefeated, moving to 2-0 after beating Fresno Pacific 176-87.
“We had a mix of performances today, but for the majority, I was pleased with how the teams raced,” said Head Coach Katelyne Herrington. “We still have a lot of work to do, but we think we’re in a good spot for where we’re at in our training.”
In the men’s 1000 yard freestyle, freshman Ethan Cole took first place with a time of 10:01.98.
Junior Alex Kurotori took first place in the men’s 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:42.65.
The men’s 100 yard backstroke was a sweep for the Tigers. Junior Aidan Scott took first place with 52.93as his final time. Sophomore Leland Baltazar finished second with a time of 53.47, and freshman Jack Springer took third with a time of 53.61.
Freshman Bridger Sink took first place for the Tigers in the men’s 100 yard breaststroke. He finished in 56.94 seconds.
The men’s 200 yard butterfly saw another sweep of first and second place for the Tigers. Senior Jonathan Tan finished first with a time of 1:55.74, and senior Nalex Young took second with a final time of 1:57.61.
Pacific took first and second in the men’s 50 yard freestyle. Sophomore Mitchell Hopper finished first with a time of 21.40, and freshman Matt Honeck took second at 22.67.
In the women’s 200 yard backstroke, sophomore Kelly Kermoian took second place with a time of 2:08.96.
The men’s 200 yard backstroke was another top-3 sweep for Pacific. Scott took first place with 1:54.27, Kurotori took second with 1:54.83, and Springer took third with 1:56.90.
Sophomore Paige Sondgeroth placed second in the women’s 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:23.48.
Sink took first in the men’s 200 yard breaststroke with a final time of 2:06.66.
In the women’s 500 yard freestyle, the Tigers claimed second, third and fourth. Sophomore Jaydn Phillips took second with 5:14.51, freshman Diana Chan took third with 5:14.84, and sophomore Ellie Macphail took third with 5:16.54.
The Tigers had an impressive showing in the women’s 100 yard butterfly. Sophomore Noemi Melendez took second with a time of 58.96, junior Taylor Moultrie took third with a time of 59.26 and freshman Annelise Thomas took fourth with a time of 1:00.03.
Hopper took first place in the men’s 100 yard butterfly finishing in 51.41 seconds.
Sondgeroth took second in the women’s 200 yard individual medley with 2:08.24. Senior Jessica Clark took third with 2:14.66, and Kermoian took fourth with 2:14.70.
Tan finished with a time of 1:55.92 in the men’s 200 yard individual medley, earning him first place, while Scott finished second with a time of 2:00.17.
The Tigers finished second in the women’s 400 yard freestyle relay. The team of Phillips, Kermoian, Macphail and Moultrie had a final time of 3:40.72 for the race.
In the men’s 400 yard freestyle relay, the team of Hopper, Kurotori, junior Aidan Vollmar and Sink took first place with a time of 3:09.69. The team of Senior Nicholas Cisco, senior Christian Schroeder, Tan and freshman Gabe Windmiller took second with a time of 3:19.74.
The Pacific men’s team is back in action on October 27 at California, while the women’s team travels to San Jose State on October 28 for its next meet.
