FAU Women, Indian River State Men Earn Wins In Season-Opening Dual

FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams opened their regular season against Indian River State on Friday afternoon. The team competed in 32 total events between the men and women. The FAU women beat the Pioneers for the fifth consecutive time, 154-144, while the men fell 161-139.

QUICK HITS

  • Logan Thornsberry won the 200 free (1:41.13)
  • In her first collegiate race, Amelia Robertson started out strong as the winner of the 100 back (57.22) and the 200 back (2:03.23)
  • The women’s side swept the top three of the 200 back. Following Robertson was Roberta Circi (2:04.09) in second and Megan Drover-Smith (2:06.17) in third
  • The top two finishers in the 100 breast were both Owls. Dalton Lillibridge came in first with a time of 56.08 while Alec Peckmann followed with a time of 56.33. Lillibridge and Peckmann also represented the top two, in the same order, in the 200 breast (2:05.94 and 2:07.29, respectively)
  • Dolores Margni captured first in the 200 butterfly (2:03.81)
  • Rateb Hussein (1:54.05) and Cristoffer Weiss (1:54.13) earned first and second, respectively, in the 200 fly
  • In the 1-meter dive, Trinity McNall won with a mark of 266.84. Alicia Mora followed close behind in second with a score of 261.51. McNall also won the 3-meter dive with a score of 265.80
  • Avery Floyd was the winner of the 200 breast (2:24.09)
  • Peckmann and David Arneskov tallied the top two times in the 200 IM. Peckmann finished with a time of 1:52.30 while Arneskov’s time was 1:52.65
  • FAU’s men’s A team (Max Ahumada, Hussein, Jackson Kirk, Lillibridge) took home the victory in the 200 medley relay (1:32.50)
