Three MLY Phoenix Swimmers Commit to Colleges

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Three MLY Phoenix seniors—Jack Rowe, Spenser DuBois and Jackson Brookover—have committed to swim in college upon their high school graduation.

Rowe is from Mt. Laurel, New Jersey where he attends Lenape High School and has committed to swim for DIII Franklin & Marshall.

“I am beyond excited to announce that I have verbally committed to Franklin and Marshall College to continue my academic and swimming career! Thank you to all my friends, teammates, and coaches for all the support they have given me throughout the years. Thank you to my family, my number one supports for all the constant love they have given me. I cannot wait for the next four #Godips!!!”

Rowe has made huge strides in his best events over the last year. In one year he dropped over 2 minutes in his 1650 freestyle and over 10 seconds in the 200 freestyle.

At the 2020 Centennial Championships with the Diplomats, Rowe would have finished 7th in the 1650 freestyle and 13th in the 500 freestyle with his current best times. At this meet the Diplomats were conference champions and 6 team members were given All-American status. The men’s 400 freestyle relay clinched the win for the team as they broke the CC and school record.

Rowe’s Best SCY Times:

  • 200 freestyle – 1:48.36
  • 500 freestyle – 4:52.34
  • 1650 freestyle – 16:58.01

DuBois has committed to swim for DIII Montclair State University beginning in fall 2020. He is from Cherry Hill, New Jersey and will graduate from Cherry Hill High School East. He is a YMCA National qualifier.

“I’m excited to announce that I’ll be continuing my academic and swimming career at Montclair State University. I want to thank my friends, family, and coaches. Go Red Hawks!”

DuBois would have placed 8th in the 200 breaststroke at the Metropolitan Swimming Championships with his current best times.

The Redhawks placed 6th as a team in this meet and had 11 team members named to the All-NJAC team.

DuBois’ Best SCY Times:

  • 100 breaststroke – 59.99
  • 200 breaststroke – 2:09.24

The final teammate in the trio, Brookover, is from Cherry Hill, New Jersey and attends Cherry Hill High School East with teammate DuBois. He has committed to swim for Pennsylvania State University beginning in fall 2020. He is also a 3-time YMCA National qualifier.

“I’m super excited to announce I will be continuing my academic and swimming career at Penn State! I would like to thank my family, my friends, and to all my coaches for trusting me along the process #WEARE #PENNSTATE

Earlier this year at the 2020 Big 10 Swimming and Diving Championships with the Nittany Lions, Brookover would have placed 23rd in the 200 backstroke with his current best time.

The team placed 9th at this meet.

Brookover’s Best SCY Times:

  • 50 freestyle – 21.42
  • 100 backstroke – 49.95
  • 200 backstroke – 1:49.61
  • 100 butterfly – 50.52
  • 200 butterfly – 1:52.71

Rowe, DuBois and Brookover will be joining their schools’ class of 2024.
