The 2018 British Universities & Colleges Sport Championships (BUCS) at Ponds Forge concluded yesterday, but not before records fell and history was made. We reported how Loughborough University earned its 15th consecutive team trophy in terms of overall points as follows, but there was a surprise when it came to the specific men’s competition.

I expected that sooner or later. Stirling men have long been competitive, but never quite enough. They’ve become a much more attractive set up recently, thus attracting talent from the other constituent countries of the UK, similar to the Edinburgh women, and it has paid off. Hopefully the end of Loughborough domination.

I think the MC athletes play a strong part, something that Loughborough lost.Women’s side was clear, Edinburgh not as strong as earlier in year where a DQ aided them.Exciting meet that BS should maybe encourage slightly more?

Agree! Correct format at correct time of year. More athletes should be in studies.

Given their squad of males over the years I am surprised they didn’t do it sooner. Scotland represented very well.
