Pitt Earns Commitment from Backstroker Megan Schimansky

Coral Springs, Florida’s Megan Schimansky has announced her commitment to swim for University of Pittsburgh beginning in the fall of 2018. She will join fellow commits Alyssa Conley, Camryn Forbes, Dakota Elliott, Kendall Goit, and Madison Nalls in the class of 2022.

Schimansky swam for Coral Glades High School, reaching the finals every year at the FHSAA 4A Region 3 Championships. As a junior she placed 3rd in the 200 free and 4th in the 100 back; this past season she was 18th in the 200 free and 5th in the back. Schimansk does her year-round swimming with Coral Springs Swim Club. At Nashville Futures last summer she competed in the 100 back and 200 back; this spring she added the 50 back to her repertoire at the Florida Gold Coast Senior Short Course Championships, where she was an A-finalist in all three events.

The Panthers finished ninth at the 2018 ACC Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships. It took 53.77 in the 100 back and 1:57.35 in the 200 back to get a second swim at conference this year.
