WOMEN’S 100 BACK:
- Pro Swim Series Record: 58.96- Emily Seebohm, Santa Clara 2016
- Pool Record:Â
59.86-Â Ali DeLoof, 2017
- GOLD: Taylor Ruck– 59.13
- SILVER: Olivia Smoliga– 59.14
- BRONZE: Federica Pellegrini– 1:00.56
Georgia postgrad Olivia Smoliga flipped with the lead in 28.50 but Canada’s Taylor Ruck fought back on the back half. Ruck pulled even with Smoliga under the flags, and got her hand to the wall just in time to beat Smoliga by .01. They’re now the 2nd and 3rd fastest swimmers in the world this year, with Ruck demolishing the former Pool Record by over half a second. Italian Olympian Federica Pellegrini held off Jade Hannah (1:00.60) for the bronze by a nail. Canadian Alexia Zevnik (1:00.83) followed closely in 5th.
Glad to hear her kind words about Missy. This may be Missy’s last chance to get her career in track. If anyone can find the answer she can.
Love her!! She’s always so bubbly! Wonder why Missy wasn’t there racing???
She most likely does not feel like she is ready to come back…She will come back when she is ready for it. I is not guaranteed she will ever compete again even though personally I’m hoping she will 🙂
Sounds like Thorpe after 04
Or Lochte after 16.
Or Missy after 16
Except he’s old
She said she’s aiming for nationals.. you people need to do research.
Just seems strange she wouldn’t just do a couple meets to get back to racing before going to nationals??
I bet she’ll do you Pro meets along the way.
i mean, there is also the possibility that she throws on a racing suit in a workout, or she goes to a local meet that isnt widely publicized and broadcast since everyone has an opinion about the status of her career.
I believe she was in Monaco for a Laureus event the weekend of the meet.
