Men’s WPWL 2016: Ultimate Meet in Huizhou (CHN)

The 2016 men’s edition of the FINA Water Polo World League is about to conclude, with the Super Final of the competition to be held in Huizhou (CHN) from June 21-26.

Eight teams, Australia, Brazil, China, Greece, Italy, Japan, Serbia and the USA have qualified to take part in the ultimate meet of the tournament, which follows the six-round European preliminaries and the Intercontinental Tournament (Yokohama, Japan, May 10-15).

The groups are composed as follows:

GROUP A: AUS, GRE, JPN, ITA
GROUP B: USA, SRB, BRA, CHN

The medallists of the 2015 edition were World champions Serbia (gold), current Olympic champions Croatia (silver) and upcoming Olympic hosts Brazil (bronze).

Four matches per day will be played at the Huizhou Jinshan Lake Swimming & Diving Hall, with the gold medal game taking place on Sunday June 26 at 16:00 (local time). See schedule here

The semi-final and final games will be streamed on FINA TV

The women’s Super Final saw the USA (gold), Spain (silver) and Australia (bronze) climbing on the podium.
