Schulte Heads to AT&T Nationals with Sights Set on Olympic Qualifying

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University men’s swimming and diving sophomore Ben Schulte(Tumon, Guam) will represent the Bulldogs this week at the AT&T Winter National Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.

Schulte heads to the Northwest with his sights set on qualifying for the 2016 Summer Olympics that will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. A citizen of Guam, Schulte will try and qualify for his second Olympics after competing in the open water swim at the London Olympics in 2012.

The course will be swum long course due to the Olympic year and Schulte will be up against some of the elite swimmers from the U.S.

Schulte will be competing in the 200 IM, 100 breast and 200 breast. He will swim the 200 IM on Thursday, the 100 breast on Friday and the 200 breast on Saturday.
