Saint Francis Signs Eight to 2016 Recruiting Class

LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis swimming team, led by Head Coach Rory Coleman, has announced the signing of eight student-athletes for the 2016 recruiting class.

“The team and coaching staff are very excited about the athletes that we signed,” said Coleman. “This class will help us challenge for conference championships and will be exciting to watch over the next four years.”

Aimee Baur
North Wales, Pa. / North Penn H.S. – Freestyle

Baur attended North Penn High School where she was a member of both the swimming and water polo teams. Baur was a teammate of fellow signee Erin O’Neill at North Penn. She participated in the Freestyle events. An All-American in 2013 and 2014, Baur has a top time of 52.11 in the 100 Freestyle, which would have placed in the Top Eight at last year’s NEC Championships. A two-time All-State and three-time All-District selection, Baur’s best time in the 200 Freestyle was 1:53.80, which would have been a Top 16 finish at the NEC Championships. Baur won a Pennsylvania State Gold Medal in 2015 as part of the 200 Freestyle Relay. In 2014, Baur earned Bronze Medals in the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relays. Baur also swam for the North Penn Aquatic club. She was First Team All-State in Water Polo in 2014 and helped North Penn to two state titles. Baur intends to major in Physical Therapy at Saint Francis.

Sabrina Bowman
Vandergrift, Pa. / Saint Joseph’s H.S. – Backstroke/Butterfly/Freestyle

Bowman was a member of the swimming team at Saint Joseph’s High School for Head Coach Laurie Bowman. A three-time All-American, Bowman would have placed in the Top Eight at last year’s NEC Championships in the 100 Butterfly (56.55) and 100 Backstroke (57.79) with her top times in those events. Bowman would have finished in the Top 16 at the NEC Championships in the 200 IM (2:09.91), 100 Freestyle (53.24), 200 Backstroke (2:09.16) and 100 Breaststroke (1:10.81) with her career-best times. In Freestyle, Bowman also has a top time of 24.75 in the 50 Freestyle. She was a member of the Cavalier Swim Club. Bowman intends to study to be a Physician’s Assistant.

Emily Graziano
Jeannette, Pa./Penn Trafford H.S. – Freestyle/IM

Graziano swam and served as a team captain for Head Coach Dave Babik at Penn Trafford High School. Graziano was a county champion and PIAA qualifier for the Warriors. She owns a top time of 1:56.12 in the 200 Freestyle, which would have placed in the Top 16 at last year’s NEC Championships. Graziano also has a top pace of 5:11.97 in the 500 Freestyle. In the 400 IM, Graziano has a career-best time of 4:49.59. She was a member of the Greensburg YMCA swim team, where she was a three-year YMCA National Qualifier. Graziano intends to study to be a Physician’s Assistant while at Saint Francis.

Erin O’Neill
Lansdale, Pa. / North Penn H.S. – Breaststroke/Freestyle/IM

O’Neill comes to Loretto as a three-year letterman at North Penn High School, where she was also a member of the water polo team. O’Neill was a teammate of fellow future Red Flash Aimee Baur. O’Neill would have placed in the Top 16 at the 2015 NEC Championships in the 100 Breaststroke (1:06.69) and 100 Freestyle (53.37) events with her top times. The two-time All-American has a top time of 2:13.26 in the 200 IM. O’Neill was also an All-Conference selection as a junior. She was part of the 200 Medley Relay that broke a team record and helped to break a pool record in the 400 Freestyle Relay. O’Neill also was a member of the North Penn Aquatic club team. O’Neill helped North Penn to two state championships in water polo.

Laura Patrick
Lake Charles, La./St. Louis Catholic H.S. – Backstroke/Breaststroke/Freestyle/IM

Patrick was a member of the swimming team at St. Louis Catholic High School for Head Coach Melinda Richard. A four-time All-District selection, Patrick would have finished in the Top Eight at the NEC Championships in the 400 IM with a top time of 4:36.00. Her career-best times in the 200 Breaststroke (2:25.28), 200 IM (2:10.40), 100 Breaststroke (1:08.91), 100 Butterfly (1:00.17) and 200 Butterfly (2:10.40) would have qualified for the Top 16. Swam for the Spartan Swimming club team. A member of the National Honor Society, Patrick intends to major in Physical Therapy.

Karilyn Quon
Tempe, Ariz. / Corona del Sol H.S. – Backstroke/IM

Quon was a four-year letterman for Head Coach Ron Musgrave at Corona del Sol High School. A three-time All-City selection, Quon’s top times in the 500 Freestyle (5:04.44), 1,650 Freestyle (17:27.09), 100 Backstroke (58.36), 200 Backstroke (2:02.92), 200 IM (2:06.92) and 400 IM (4:28.19) would have qualified for the Top Eight at last year’s NEC Championships. She would have also had Top 16 finishes in the 100 Freestyle (53.61), 200 Freestyle (1:54.17), 100 Breaststroke (1:08.93), 200 Breaststroke (2:25.73) an 100 Butterfly (1:00.37) with her top career times in those events. Also owns a top time of 24.81 in the 50 Freestyle. Quon also swam for the Rio Salado club team.

Meaghan Saettel
Miamisburg, Ohio / Miamisburg H.S. – Butterfly/Freestyle/IM

Saettel comes to Saint Francis after four years on the Miamisburg High School swimming team. Saettel’s career-best times in the 200 Butterfly (2:08.90) and 400 IM (4:36.27) would have placed in the Top Eight at last year’s NEC Championships. Her top time in the 200 IM (2:09.78) would have been a Top 16 finish in the NEC Championships. Saettel also has top career times of 5:10.07 in the 500 Freestyle and 1:00.85 in the 100 Butterfly. She also swam for the Dayton Raiders club team.

Kristen Toth
Silver Spring, Md. / St. Vincent Pallotti H.S. – Backstroke/Breaststroke/Freestyle

Toth was a four-year letterman at St. Vincent Pallotti High School for Head Coach Bill Bayly. She led the Panthers to their first conference title in school history at the 2015 IAAM C-Conference Championships. Her career-best times of 1:10.25 in the 10 Breaststroke and 2:32.27 in the 200 Breaststroke would have been Top 16 finishes at last year’s NEC Championships. Also has top times of 1:59.88 in the 200 Freestyle, 1:02.70 in the 100 Backstroke and 2:13.67 in the 200 Backstroke. She was a member of the Machine Aquatics club team. A member of the National Honor Society, Toth is planning to study to be a Physician’s Assistant.
