Bryan Hughes
Born March 22, 1995 Bryan Hughes is a butterfly and IM swimmer from Modesto, Calif. Hughes is a sophomore at the University of Michigan, where he’s studying in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts. He graduated from Amador Valley High School, and competed for the Crow Canyon Sharks – the same high school as fellow Michigan teammate, Jason Chen. he was a four-time high school All-American and team MVP. Although he’s primarily a butterfly and IM swimmer, Hughes is truly a multi-event athlete. In the 2013 recruiting class Hughes was the no. 16 recruit in the state of California and the 129th-ranked recruit in the entire class according to collegeswimming.com.

Michigan
2013-2014
As a freshman Hughes did not swim at the Big Ten Championships, but he swam four season-best times at the Michigan Last Chance Meet.

2014-2015
Hughes is currently in his sophomore year as a Michigan Wolverine. He competed in the dual meet season, and he took 12th in the 200 butterfly at the AT&T Winter Nationals. At the first dual meet of the season against Indiana, Texas and Louisville he competed in three events.

National Competition
Competing for Amador Valley High School Hughes was a four-time All-American and three-time team MVP. As just a sophomore, he received his team’s Coaches’ Award.

At the 2012 Speedo Junior National Championships, Hughes finished 11th in the 200m butterfly.
