The Technical Director of the Royal Dutch Swimming Federation Joop Alberda has announced the eight member team that will be participating at the World Short Course Championships. The final decisions were made in consultation with the national team coaches once the Dutch Championships were completed.
The team heads into Doha with many of their top swimmers having very impressive swims so far this year.
Femke Heemskerk, who set three national championship records at the competition that concluded on Friday, is currently ranked top ten in the world in seven events. First in the 100 freestyle, second in the 200 freestyle, third in the 200 backstroke and 200 IM, fifth in the 50 freestyle, sixth in the 100 IM and 10th in the 400 IM.
Olympic champion, 2010 World Short Course champion and 2013 European Short Course champion Ranomi Kromowidjojo goes into the competition ranked first in the 50 freestyle and third in the 100 freestyle.
Inge Dekker, who dominated the sprint butterfly events at the World Cup circuit, currently ranks first in the 50 butterfly, second in the 100 butterfly, fourth in the 50 freestyle and fifth in the 100 freestyle.
2014 European Championships silver medalist Moniek Nijhuis comes into the competition ranked third in the 100 and fourth in the 50 breaststroke.
2014 European Championships bronze medalist Sharon van Rouwendaal is currently ranked seventh in the world in the 800 freestyle.

Youth athletes Marrit Steenbergen and Nyls Korstanje will also be present in Doha taking part in the international training camp that will be organized by FINA.
