Maria Lohman, who dives for Pitt Aquatic Club, has made a verbal commitment to the University of North Carolina women’s swimming and diving team for 2015-16.
Diving for Chartiers Valley High School, Lohman set the Pennsylvania state record at the 2014 PIAA Class AAA Swimming & Diving Championships, with 529.80 points. She also won states as a sophomore (446.20); as a freshman she placed second in the AA state meet (453.25).
Lohman has participated at USA Diving ATT Senior National Diving Championships and at Junior Nationals, finishing in the top 16 in all her events.
Lohman, and the rest of the new Tar Heel divers, should add a huge boost to North Carolina’s results at ACC Championships.
