The Great Britain delegation continues to lead the overall pool swimming medals at the 2014 European Championships, adding 5 more total medals on day 4.
Meanwhile Hungary has pulled into a tie for most golds at 4, thanks to Katinka Hosszu‘s double-gold performance, plus the women’s 4×200 free relay taking bronze. Hungary also won 5 total medals, and now sit second to Great Britain in total medals, 15 to 7.
The Brits got a gold from Jazz Carlin in the 800 free and continued to pile up medals in most every event. Ross Murdoch, Aimee Willmott, Georgia Davies and Chris Walker-Hebborn all chipped in medals on day 4.
17 countries have now medaled, with Austria and Poland joining the ranks today. Each won a bronze medal.

In the overall medals (which include diving, synchronized swimming and open water), Russia still leads with 6 golds, though Germany and Great Britain are closing the gap. Each of those nations has 5 golds, and each have 16 total medals, two more than Russia. Note that 15 of those 16 medals for Great Britain have come in the pool. Russia has done particularly well in synchronized swimming and diving, while Germany has picked up a lot of medals in the open water and diving events.
There are three days of competition left at the European Aquatics Championships.
