15 year old Charlie Cancelmo swam to the #9 100 butterfly all-time in the boys 15-16 age group touching in a 53.04 to earn a 3rd place finish.

Cancelmo previously sat at #24 in the age group with his best time of a 53.78 that he swam two weeks ago at the Pacific Northwest Senior Championships. He has now dropped over two seconds in the event this season as his best was a 55.19 coming into the season.

This marks the second top 10 swim for Cancelmo this week in Irvine. On night 1, he posted a 1:59.27 in the 200 butterfly. That also sits at #9 in the 15-16 age group.

Cancelmo also made huge progress this past short course yards season, dropping from a 2:03.85 to a 1:59.53 in the 200 fly and a 55.19 to a 53.78 in the 100 fly.
